Brocmar Smokehouse is a line of family-owned, southern, barbecue rubs and sauces. Their mission is to give customers the authentic southern barbeque experience in the comfort of their own homes. By providing customers with quality ingredients they hope to teach a tradition that’s been passed down in the family for decades. Flavor profile icons and personalized pattern textures helped to identify the sauces and rubs while also providing consumers with a predominant visual to identifying the taste of each sauce and rub. The gritty textures were used to mimic that dirty hands-on sense you have while smoking meats and was used in order to give consumers that sense of authenticity. Colors were on the more poppy vibrant side to stand out against other brands on the shelf. The shape of the white hour glass within the packaging was used as a tactic to create an arrow shape while lined up on the shelf and ultimately draw the eye of consumers to the product. As a pricier sauce and rub the branding had to convey a homey and inviting sense while also feeling upscale enough to justify the cost.
